I believe in being direct and specific about what one needs. The fact is that we do not live in an ideal world where the kinds of choices I make to be available to my children, neighbors and friends, or to write, or work as a volunteer, will result in our being able to support ourselves. We require financial support to meet our basic needs. I am making the choices I do without much of a safety net.

The minimal financial cost of supporting my family every year is $40,000.

If you like what I am up to and you want to send me a little something to help me support the children and maybe, maybe not be in debt one day, that would be so wonderful. Really.

My teen son and I have been working on a book to support families in sharing conversations about values and build an early conscientious objector 
portfolio for the elementary school aged kid.
