My politics can be summed up as "treat people right." Much of my life as a mother revolves around the care of children. This keeps me close to home and close to the people I love. I believe that the people one will most impact are those one makes time for. I make time for friends, neighbors and family -- while creating tools, space and sharing thoughts to help others do the same.

I recently became a contributing author at New Clear Vision, a blog that focuses on my pet themes: solidarity behavior and loving, healing solutions to political problems, as well as the serious, meaningful connection between the personal and the political. I have recent essays in Counterpunch, Truthout and Commondreams.

Supported in part by a grant from the Research Associates Foundation, my older son, Mac, and I are building a guided journal of moral development for children ages 4-12. The book is designed to be shared between a child and a concerned adult and will document conscientious objector status later in the child's life. During the month of June 2012 Mac and I are working hard to have our project fully funded through Kickstarter.

I volunteer as a childcare provider with the DC Childcare Collective, where "childcare is a form of solidarity".

I am also a member of the National Writers Union.
